All drones released by DJI in 2022

This blog is brought to you by Drone Class, your drone trainer for flying in the open and specific category.

The year 2022 can safely be called the year of new drones. At least, manufacturer DJI has released a laundry list of new devices. For those who have now lost count and the overview, we list all released DJI aircraft in chronological order.

DJI M30 and M30T

It took a while for the rain of new drones to start in 2022, but there was quite a bit of spectacle to come. The DJI M30 and M30T are professional drones with advanced cameras, which in some ways keep up well with or even surpass their bigger brother - the Matrice 300. In any case, the difference in compactness and cost is huge!

DJI Mini 3 Pro

The successor to the DJI Mini 2 came out: the DJI Mini 3 Pro. This improved drone for recreational pilots in particular flies fine, shoots drone shots in 4K and weighs under 250 grams. DJI remains committed to compact and lightweight devices.

We think the Mini 3 Pro is a better choice than the DJI Mini 3.

DJI Avata

Creating flying images indoors and outdoors has really become a trend. Thanks to the DJI FPV, you could experience this before. The new DJI Avata, thanks to improved goggles, also lets you experience first person view flying and shoot these images in 4K. The included motion controller works nicely and you can also opt for a standard radio controller with two sticks thanks to the DJI FPV controller 2.

DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise and Thermal

By autumn, DJI was far from finished. The enterprise edition of the Mavic 3, released in 2021, had been on the horizon for some time. With the Mavic 3 Enterprise and Thermal, DJI does not disappoint. The Enterprise has a mechanical shutter, making it - of all the devices in the Enterprise Series - the most suitable for mapping. The Thermal, however, has a thermal imaging camera on board, which might make it difficult to choose between the two devices.

DJI Mavic 3 Classic

The first DJI drone with a visible Cx label (C1) on it. Those who don't need the DJI Mavic 3's zoom lens can save money by opting for the DJI Mavic 3 Classic. Otherwise, this budget version is similar to the Mavic 3, which is still DJI's flagship device.

DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral

For precision agriculture, the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral has been launched with a multispectral camera, which can measure NIR (near infrared). This is useful for crop analysis. With the launch of this aircraft, DJI has completely replaced the old Phantom 4 series.

DJI Mini 3

As if so many new devices were not enough, DJI launched a budget version of the Mini 3 Pro in the last month of this year: DJI Mini 3.

Outlook 2023

With so many new devices, you might be wondering what's left to wish for in the new year. At least we know that DJI is working on a successor to the Inspire 2. Furthermore, we are curious to see if there will be anything new in the successful Air series.
