FAQs

Who needs this refresher?

The refresher is required for anyone who has a valid certificate issued by the Netherlands and wants to renew it on time.

My current certificate is not issued by the Netherlands?

If your current A1-A3, A2 or STS certificate is issued by another country than the Netherlands, you have to follow the refresher in the country that issued your current certificate. That country is the competent authority.

Why is this so important?

Only a competent authority may issue certificates. Drone Class is a certified flight school from the Netherlands. Issued certificates are therefore from the Dutch authorities.

How long does it take?

On average, the online course and exam take 3 hours. You can study at your own pace and finish within one day if you wish.

What does it cost?

The refresher costs 99 euros (incl. VAT) for A1-A3 and A2. This includes the online exam and free resits. Application costs are 20 euros for the certificate and you pay this amount to us after passing the exam.

How is the exam done?

The exam is online and can be taken from home, whenever you are ready.

Can I start right away?

Yes. As soon as you sign up, you get direct access to the course and exams online.

How long is it valid?

Your renewed certificate is valid for 5 years throughout Europe. The minimum age to apply is 16 years (in the Netherlands).

I find many of the

"I find many of the questions in the exam completely irrelevant to operating a drone, for example what license you need to fly a model plane and in what unit battery capacity is measured to mention a couple. Also, the fact that you charge an additional hidden fee of 20 EUR to actually get my license after I completed the exam is not ok. Be honest and up front with such fees. I paid for the A1-A3 + A2. But my course and exam did not include A2 and I can't find any place where I can do it. Later I got a mail to print the full license, but in the form where I'm aske to select exam, there is none to select."

Really good traning for the refresh of A2

"I needed to renew my A2 certificate that was expiring in the coming month and as always they have the best price on the market with a really good traning. It guide you step by step on every point for the renewal of the certificate. I will suggest to create a small guide or keep the access active for who want to check again after some years the traning. Thanks for the opportunity. I will probably do the STS with your platform next year!"

Mission accomplished: A2 unlocked! 🚀

"Pre-flight check: Complete. Training material: High altitude, zero turbulence. Exam result: Successfully landed! This course didn't just help me pass the PT 02 A2; it completely cleared the airspace of any doubts. If you want a smooth flight straight to your certification, stop hovering around and just sign up. 10/10 performance! Hopefully, this review flies straight into that 100% cashback draw! 🤞"

Great course

"A very comprehensive and well thought out course. I did not expect it to be so enjoyable. I particularly liked the quizes at the end of each module and the practice exams which prepared you well for the final exam. Thank you !"

The course was informative and

"The course was informative and well organized, however a lot of the AI fluff can be dropped such as "Alex, the assistant. " Just stick to the material, quizzes, and show the collection of course work up front in order to reduce the number of clicks a user has to perform. Also, reduce the number of marketing emails, it seems the price varies widely depending on when you receive a promotion discount code. All in all, I would recommend this course and can see improvements on the offerings in the future with the pro area. Cheers!"
