Not sure which license you need?

Which FPV drone suits you?

Which drone best suits your needs depends on the purpose for which you want to purchase the drone.

  • You want both FPV and 360° in one drone:
    DJI Avata 360
  • You want the best value for money:
    DJI Avata 360
  • You want an FPV drone at the best price:
    DJI Avata 2
  • You want a simple FPV drone:
    Antigravity A1
  • You create professional 360° content:
    DJI Avata 360
  • You want the fastest drone:
DJI Avata 360 or DJI Avata 2

DJI Avata 360: the all-rounder

The Avata 360 is the only drone that can do both 360° and traditional FPV. That makes it incredibly versatile. Fly a spectacular dive through a building in FPV mode and switch to 360° with one touch to capture the entire landscape. In edit, you choose your best angle afterwards, without having to think about framing beforehand.

When you purchase this drone, you get 8K 360° video, LiDAR obstacle detection, interchangeable lenses and the reliable O4 system.

DJI Avata 2: for (novice) FPV pilots

The Avata 2 is now almost two years old and still a good choice for those who want to fly FPV. The image quality in 4K is excellent and there is a huge range of accessories and tutorials. The DJI Avata 2 has excellent features that will allow you to make your first flights as a novice FPV pilot. Since the Avata 360 was released, we expect the DJI Avata 2 to drop slightly in price, making this drone even more attractive.

The big drawback: no 360° capabilities, limited obstacle sensors and no interchangeable lenses.

Insta360 Antigravity A1: the 360° FPV drone

The Antigravity A1 was until recently the only 360° drone on the market and it excels in ease of use. The unique Grip Controller works on the basis of point-to-fly: point up to fly up, turn to go backwards. This makes the A1 accessible to absolute beginners who have never flown a drone before.

The drone has a maximum resolution of 8K/30fps. You can only film in 360°, not in traditional forward-facing. It also has a lower maximum speed and lacks an advanced transmission system like DJI's O4.

Do you need a drone license for an FPV drone?

All three of the above drones have a C1 label. Only the Antigravity A1 with the small battery falls below 250 grams, but many drone pilots opt for the extra flight minutes. Therefore, to fly these drones in the EU, you need the A1/A3 basic certificate.

The training for the A1/A3 basic certificate is completely online. After the training you take an exam, the exam is also taken online. You can obtain the Basic Certificate in as little as one day. This will allow you to fly your FPV drone quickly and easily.

Conclusion: Best FPV drone of 2026

The DJI Avata 360 is the best FPV drone on the market. With the arrival of this drone, you no longer have to choose between FPV or 360° filming. Both options are in one compact device. In addition, this drone is equipped with all the features. Easy flight modes, LIDAR sensors, interchangeable reads and great recording quality.

The Antigravity A1 remains the excellent 360° drone with low weight and easy size. The DJI Avata 2 has been praised over the past two years for its excellent FPV qualities. But if you want one drone that can do it all? Then the choice is clear, the DJI Avata 360 is the most complete FPV drone of 2026.
