Who needs this refresher?
The refresher is required for anyone who has a valid certificate issued by the Netherlands and wants to renew it on time.
My current certificate is not issued by the Netherlands?
If your current A1-A3, A2 or STS certificate is issued by another country than the Netherlands, you have to follow the refresher in the country that issued your current certificate. That country is the competent authority.
Why is this so important?
Only a competent authority may issue certificates. Drone Class is a certified flight school from the Netherlands. Issued certificates are therefore from the Dutch authorities.
How long does it take?
On average, the online course and exam take 3 hours. You can study at your own pace and finish within one day if you wish.
What does it cost?
The refresher costs 79 euros (incl. VAT) for A1-A3 and A2. For STS theory it's 158 euros (incl. VAT). This includes the online exam and free resits. Application costs are 20 euros for the certificate and you pay this amount to us after passing the exam.
How is the exam done?
The exam is online and can be taken from home, whenever you are ready.

How long is it valid?
Your renewed certificate is valid for 5 years throughout Europe. The minimum age to apply is 16 years (in the Netherlands).
