Which drone training for you?

This blog is brought to you by Drone Class, your drone trainer for flying in the open and specific category.

We are offering training for both recreational and professional drone pilots. In this blog, we list all the opportunities to dive into unmanned aviation at flight school Drone Class.

Designated and accredited trainer

First of all, it is good to know that Drone Class is an official trainer with authority to examine (both theory and practical). We are designated by the Dutch ministry to examine for the A1-A3, A2 and STS theory certificates. Let's take a closer look at our drone training.

EU Drone Licence

EU Dronebewijs

From 250g, every pilot starts by obtaining the basic A1-A3 certificate. The training will introduce you to the most important drone rules, safety, privacy and insurance for your aircraft, among other things. If your aircraft has a C2 label, you will also need to get the additional certificate A2. In particular, this course focuses on meteorology, flight preparation and battery knowledge.

With these certificates in your pocket, you will fly - under the rules of the open category - in all EU countries, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland this summer.

Basic training Specific category

EASA STS theory certificate

If you actually want to get rid of the restrictions of the open category, you can become proficient in the specific category. Please note that in addition to undergoing mandatory training, you must always operate under an issued business licence from the ILT.

Our training is theory only for obtaining the EASA STS theory certificate.

CRM-MCC training

If you will be operating in a larger flight crew, we recommend preparing yourself for this by attending our CRM-MCC training course. Non-technical skills are the focus here.

Do you have questions about the EU Drone Licence, the specific category or an individual training course? Then feel free to contact us. Also for aircraft advice and the purchase of a new drone.
